MY STORY
January 1976…. In the deep south of Spain, with need of freedom and hopes with the democracy, I am born, happy…anxious and eager… but very happy.
I pass my first childhood’s years at home, making bulky boxes and building with pieces of Molto and Meccano Metaling for my brother, going out on errands for my mother and looking forward to my father´s wish to start building works or some do it yourself at home. I was always thinking about what could be improved or repaired. It’s like an obsession. Obviously, whenever some of these works are being done, I don’t become alienated from the workers, I wanted to participate…., in fact…., I do it, continually, offering myself, rendering services.
I swotted up with my father’s job.In that time, he was a smith and dabled at building. I start using engeens and tools, behind my father’s back who banned me, due to my short age.
On my continued visits to my maternal’s grandfather, I always wished to hear his famous question: “Are you coming to see the birds?” The little bird room is a delight for my senses. My grandfather, retired and singing bird breeder, devotes his passion with an exquisit delicacy. He obtains the best specimens of the region and he makes handcraft made, wooden cages, “carracas, jarillas, rat traps etc.. I am gobsmacked at this extremely meticulousners, skills and tidiness. It’s possible that in that time I discovered a passion for something, for everything, or maybe for my whole life.
I grew up in a new neighbourhood, surrounded by sown fields. Most of the children are from the same generation, the EGB generation. We ran without any danger in the street, beaches and gardens in our village. I am enchanted about the seasonal changes. I observe the fauna and flora and I recognize the nature, the perfect and absolute origin of all.
I emphasize academically and I live by my own’s wits.I don`t have to study, observing is good enough for me. I am a naughty boy and I have a good time, making tranks.
Motivated by any curiosity for knowing more and more and being independent, I started working during the summer in a cake shop, when I was only 12, getting my parents in trouble.I cleaned and greased trays, made cakes and in the weekend evenings I prolonged my working days, selling, illegally, sweets on the beach of “La Ballena”. I loved dealing with the beach clients. I became to be economically indipendent since that age.
I realized that my curiosity was different tan other children’s one.I don’t know…. Maybe going upstream, it’s not voluntary, it’s what I feel. I love being different, I enjoy being the first by knowing and practising new things but I loathe fashionables and I don’t feel confortable having to respect pre-established schedules by the society. Who knows, maybe for that I’m born lefthanded, “colchonero” (fan of Atlètico Madrid football club) and “alfista” (fan of Alfa Romeo). Right hemisphere brain – extrem passion.
In that time, my emotions spilled over. I love all relationed with art, architecture, creativity and above all, spontaneity and surrealism, an explosion of a perfect magic madness like Maradona’s, Pedro Reyes’, Dali’s, Josè Luis Cuerda’s one. And later, Quentin Tarantino’s, Ferràn Adria’s, Jaime Hayon’s one…..Since I was a schoolboy, I saw it clear, I wanted to become an architect or a master builder.
I passed my high school at the same way, living on my own’s wits and loafing a bit around. During my last high school year I opened a bar which allowed me to finance my University studies. I enrolled in the Technical University of architecture in Seville. I combined my strolls around the city during the week, working at weekends nights in Chipiona, but I almost went to clases. I rounded the city of Seville and fell in love with this andalusian capital and I was gobsmacked at its buildings, squares, historic city center, theatres, restaurants and cinemas. I liked the hubbub of dayly activities which move the world, so I discovered an other passion, cities.
I met my new partner and decided to study seriously. A few month later, on my 22th birthday, I suffered my second face paralyses, the first one happened on my 12th birthday, curious …. but true. The second paralyses stopped my excellent academic start and during my recovery retirement I began to be obsessed by the illness and my stumbling. I nourished my new friend, a friend who came to stay forever, called….anxiety.
Starting that moment, I rather changed my life. I left some small, bad habits, trying to live more relaxed. I suppose that I built up my responsable personality to compensate my “new, unbalanced emotion” which is emphasized on top, a complete and definitive passion for interior design, architecture, art, design and style. I bought a lot of books and reviews. I realized that some architectural solutions which I saw in the street, disturbed me, as well as spelling errors on important writings, only by overviewing them. I didn’t do that deliberately, it just happened. As well as my eye view, I discovered that all my senses, specially my taste- and smell ones became extremely developped. Maybe it was always like this and I didn´t realize it. In this new stage I stayed more towards me, discovering Chi-Kung, Yoga and meditation. I started my self taught painting.
I finish my tecnical architecture studies and go back to Chipiona, immersing me inthe property developer boom. I start working on myself as freelance and succumb and delight to my work, in less than a year I achieve hundreds of profesional orders.
I love my job and I start designing exclusive interior projects. I continue studying compulsively during eight years, realizing two masters, graduating in interior design and window dressing, I also enrolled me at every course I could find. As “dessert” I obtained the second univerity degree as building engeener. I contnue painting.
My twins are born, a boy and a girl.I dedicate them most of my time .They fill in all my space time and I don’t need to study more. I remain more time at home and I reach a fluid painting way. Despite the crisis, I don’t stop working and I continue growing my creativity.
I start receiving invitations to expose my work in show rooms. I always deny it because I consider not to have a defined style, I need to continue investigating my painting for some years more.
The boom of social medias is glimpsing and once more, I run away, I love my privacy – it’s more – when I observe people, taking to heart , subjects treated on certain platforms, they make themself out to be an expert.I can’t stand this whirl of “know-it-all” with their “curious” commentaries.
Instagram is born.I sign very cautiously the register and for a few years I observe that social comments are rarely and the overall impression seems to be respectful. Users expose their pictures and videos, many of them are amazing.Professionally, I discover brillant profiles, made by colleagues, some of them really important. I start uploading pictures about my dayly business, increasing my community. I love it. I can see that this plateform gathers many features which are cool, amongst the possibility to expose work on a quick, permanent and accesible way for everybody. Maybe this net could have pushed me, after twenty years remaining on the sidelines, to show, without fears, circumlocution, justification and half baked ideas.
….And I’m so bored…. In addition I continue to have more and more interests, obsessions, trainings, experiences and overcoat passions….I start a new phase. I consider having a real possibility to export my artistic and architectural work further than that blessed confort area around me.
That’s why I set off these on-line sales and profesional services plateform. I wish it will be gratyfying to those people who love art and exclusiveness.
