I received a phone call from Madrid, Pilar, a Yoga teacher and in love with Càdiz. She visited an old housing in the historic city center and she doubt if purchasing it would be a good choice. She asked me to visit the building, to emit a value judgement, specially about structural security, price and reform possibilities. After my visit there, I only could pronounce one sentence to obtain my client’s decisión: “Pilar, if you don’t buy it, …I will do it”.
Everything started to flow. We denuded the flat of its coating and started to rescue old bricks.We discovered a hidden double hight with marvellous wrought wood which gave us space enough to create an interfloor. The rescued elements will be again the central importance. Large wooden windows, period hydraulic floors, white, perforated coating, wooden floating flooring, a white made-to-mesure iron staircase, a courtyard with central light, designs of rare elements to hide installations. A really necessary rescue.
